2008 Coaching Staff
Mike Cuffee- Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator
In my young life in the church. I developed a contentment, stability and confidence that came from knowing there is one who truly loves me and is genuinely interested in my life and without question my rock. I have been blessed with a great family and a career as a Store Operation Manager for 23 years. The ultimate goal of my coaching career has been to teach young men and players the value of living with GODLY principles and priorities. I started in the sport in 1981 as a 190lb young man with a goal at Maury high school in Norfolk, Va. I played until 1983 and filled into a 6’ 225lb inside linebacker and right offense tackle after a long lay off I started coaching in 1989 to 2005 in the Youth Developmental League , 1 year in the city of Chesapeake and 6 years in Virginia Beach VA. IN 2005 to 2007 I came on with the Diamond Football League as Asst. Head coach and Defense coordinator and in 2007 was blessed to be given the opportunity to be named the Head Coach/Defense Coordinator for the Southern Virginia Trojans.

Kendrick Dickerson-Offensive Coordinator
Coach Kendrick Dickerson is originally from Louisiana. Coach Dickerson was stationed here in Virginia in 1990 at the age of 18, with the U.S. Navy. He served his country for four years, where he participated in Desert Shield and Desert Storm also known as the Gulf War. He worked as an Engineer Technician for a Defense Contractor from 1995-2006 and now  works as an Industrial Property Specialist for the Federal Government. He has 3 children, two boys and a girl and their ages are 13, 5 and 4. He started coaching in recreation league in South Norfolk with kids in the age group of 9-12 years of age. He then followed the kids to middle school and high school where he volunteered to help out with scouting and fundamental techniques. Coach Dickerson started working for the Southern Virginia Trojans 2 years ago where he started working on composing a plan of attack to build the best organization in Hampton Roads. Coach Dickerson believes in Loyalty, Respect, Dedication, Motivation, and Execution.

Kelly Mason-O/D Line

Kelly was born August 26, 1975 in Lexington, Ky.  Summer of 87' Mason’s family moved to Hampton, Va.  Mason played JV and Varsity at Pheobus High School. Mason’s senior year he left and went back home to KY to play for Tates Creek High which they were the state finalist.  After high school he was a walk on at the University of Kentucky.  After a brief collegiate career Mason then pursued football with the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, the Peninsula Pasidons, Tampa Bay Stings and the Virginia Vipers. For the past three years Mason had been coaching Minor League Football.  Now as a coach for the Trojans Mason brings his winning and positive attitude to the organization, and also bringing Pro style football to the Hampton Roads area.

Eric Curry-Assistant Coach
Eric was born in Illinois and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he currently resides.  Eric graduated from Kempsville High School in 1996.  Eric brings with he over 10 years of coaching and is also the Co-founder of "M & E Youth Football Camp".  Coach Curry is the father of 1 son and is a mentor of several young men in the Virginia Beach area.

Joseph Clevenger-Team Assistant
Joseph has been coaching footabll for 10 years.  He is a father of one and a dedicated memeber of the Southern Virginia Trojans.  Joseph beleives without Christ his opportunities in life would not have been what they are today.  Remember it's not "we can" its "we will"

Trainers

Dr. Michele Henry
Michele Henry is orginally from Pennsylvania, but relocated to Virginia with her family in 1998.  She received her Doctorate of Chriopractic College in 1998 and  began working at Cedarwood in 1999, taking over as owner and president in 2005.  Her expertise includes Diverifield, Flexion Distraction and low force techniques, aslo incorporating ultrasound and Active Release Technique when appropriate.

Dr. Marion Odell
Marion Odell come to us from the Pacific Northwest where she was a clinical instructor at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon.  A few of the techniques she practices are Applied Kinesiology, non-force chiropractic, diverified, Activator, Craniosacral Therapy and Pediatric Chiropractic care.  Dr. Odell also employs different types of soft tissue therapies that include trigger point therapy, ultrasound and tool assisted therapy.  She is an excellent resource regarding sports injuries, nutrition and wellness care.
